Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Consumer Goods and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 0.36% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV), which rose 2.94% or 0.76 points to trade at 26.65 at the close. Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB) added 2.70% or 0.255 points to end at 9.715 and Amer Sports Corporation (HE:AMEAS) was up 2.10% or 0.54 points to 26.21 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nordea Bank AB FDR (HE:NDA1V), which lost 1.88% or 0.165 points to trade at 8.630 in late trade. Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE) declined 1.41% or 0.96 points to end at 67.24 and Metso Oyj (HE:METSO) shed 1.09% or 0.33 points to 29.96.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 80 to 65 and 17 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was down 0.06% or 0.05 to $78.38 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.43% or 0.31 to hit $71.00 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $1290.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.31% to 1.1802, while EUR/GBP fell 0.19% to 0.8748.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 93.27.
