Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Consumer Services and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 0.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Neste Oyj (HE:NESTE), which rose 2.30% or 0.39 points to trade at 17.35 at the close. Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA) added 1.25% or 0.04 points to end at 3.57 and KONE Oyj (HE:KNEBV) was up 1.24% or 0.58 points to 47.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA), which lost 1.88% or 0.80 points to trade at 41.86 in late trade. Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV) declined 1.74% or 0.76 points to end at 42.88 and Valmet Oyj (HE:VALMT) shed 1.72% or 0.46 points to 26.32.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 91 to 78 and 20 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 1.61% or 1.35 to $85.08 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.12% or 1.69 to hit $81.40 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.04% or 0.90 to trade at $2,468.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.34% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.43% at 103.52.
