Among the hottest topics of 2023 has been the rise of artificial intelligence (AI), especially since the valuations of public and private companies involved in the sector have surged.
A new list highlights the top 100 people in the field and it includes some recognizable names. Here are some highlights.
What Happened: Well-known for its annual lists of the top 100 influential people and top 100 influential companies, TIME has released its inaugural TIME 100 AI list of the top names in the artificial intelligence sector.
The list of 100 names is broken down across the categories of leaders, innovators, shapers and thinkers.
“At this critical moment of exceptional growth and advancement in AI, we are proud to reveal the first-ever TIME 100 AI list to recognize the individuals leading AI innovation, including those advancing major conversations to promote equity in AI," TIME CEO Jessica Sibley said.
TIME sought nominations from industry leaders and experts. The final list includes 43 CEOs, including those of several publicly traded companies. Here’s a breakdown of some of the most recognizable names.

Public Companies: Investors would be wise to take note of which companies the following executives are with:
