Investing.com – Denmark equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Industrials and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Copenhagen, the OMX Copenhagen 20 rose 1.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Copenhagen 20 were AP Moeller - Maersk A/S A (CO:MAERSKa), which rose 3.85% or 420 points to trade at 11330 at the close. AP Moeller - Maersk A/S B (CO:MAERSKb) added 3.31% or 380 points to end at 11860 and Jyske Bank A/S (CO:JYSK) was up 2.92% or 10.0 points to 352.5 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Dong Energy A/S (CO:DENERG), which lost 1.31% or 3.40 points to trade at 256.10 in late trade. Lundbeck A/S (CO:LUN) declined 0.90% or 2.6 points to end at 285.4 and William Demant Holding AS (CO:WDH) shed 0.48% or 0.6 points to 123.5.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 76 to 45 and 17 ended unchanged on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.04% or 0.02 to $53.16 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.18% or 0.10 to hit $55.34 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 1.33% or 16.15 to trade at $1194.65 a troy ounce.
USD/DKK was up 0.05% to 6.9332, while EUR/DKK rose 0.01% to 7.4369.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.11% at 100.16.
