Investing.com – Colombia equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Public Services, Investment and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombia, the COLCAP declined 0.19% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the COLCAP were Conconcret (CN:CIC), which rose 3.91% or 12.0 points to trade at 319.0 at the close. Ecopetrol SA (CN:ECO) added 1.68% or 50.0 points to end at 3030.0 and Avianca Holdings Pf (CN:AVT_p) was up 0.79% or 15.0 points to 1920.0 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Almacenes Exito SA (CN:IMI), which lost 2.42% or 300.0 points to trade at 12100.0 in late trade. Empresa de Energia de Bogota SA ESP (CN:EEB) declined 1.98% or 35.0 points to end at 1735.0 and Grupo Aval Acciones y Valores SA Pref (CN:GAA_p) shed 1.46% or 15.0 points to 1015.0.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 18 to 4 and 5 ended unchanged on the Colombia Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, US coffee C for March delivery was up 0.78% or 0.80 to $103.15 . Meanwhile, US cocoa for delivery in March rose 2.32% or 49.00 to hit $2165.00 , while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.29% or 3.60 to trade at $1250.80 a troy ounce.
USD/COP was down 0.53% to 3169.00, while BRL/COP rose 0.70% to 821.94.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.41% at 96.958.
