Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumption and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 1.63%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Embraer SA (SA:EMBR3), which rose 6.99% or 1.45 points to trade at 22.20 at the close. Localiza Rent a Car SA (SA:RENT3) added 6.33% or 1.75 points to end at 29.40 and BRF SA (SA:BRFS3) was up 6.11% or 1.53 points to 26.56 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cielo SA (SA:CIEL3), which lost 3.65% or 0.87 points to trade at 22.98 in late trade. Qualicorp SA (SA:QUAL3) declined 1.87% or 0.51 points to end at 26.81 and Equatorial Energia SA (SA:EQTL3) shed 1.78% or 1.30 points to 71.70.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 293 to 127 and 38 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 9.56% to 28.38.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.17% or 2.20 to $1323.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 3.28% or 1.97 to hit $62.09 a barrel, while the May US coffee C contract fell 0.04% or 0.05 to trade at $120.33 .
USD/BRL was down 0.33% to 3.2562, while EUR/BRL fell 0.38% to 4.0065.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 90.09.
