Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Real Estate and Consumption sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 1.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were EcoRodovias SA (SA:ECOR3), which rose 4.52% or 0.32 points to trade at 7.40 at the close. Lojas Americanas SA (SA:LAME4) added 4.78% or 0.76 points to end at 16.67 and JBS SA (SA:JBSS3) was up 4.26% or 0.38 points to 9.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA:ELET6), which lost 3.01% or 0.42 points to trade at 13.55 in late trade. Gol Linhas Aereas Inteligentes SA Pref (SA:GOLL4) declined 2.16% or 0.23 points to end at 10.42 and Natura Cosmeticos SA (SA:NATU3) shed 1.91% or 0.59 points to 30.27.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 278 to 132 and 37 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.76% to 34.10.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.26% or 3.20 to $1254.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.24% or 0.91 to hit $74.36 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract fell 0.79% or 0.91 to trade at $114.97 .
USD/BRL was up 0.39% to 3.8759, while EUR/BRL rose 1.36% to 4.5283.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.81% at 94.23.
