Proactive Investors - BP (LON:BP) should appoint the first-ever female chief executive among the oil super giants and do a swift about-turn on its green ambitions, according to analyst David Hewitt at Liberum.
Hewitt says the departure of Bernard Looney has presented the oil and gas giant with three major opportunities.

One is to be the first ‘supermajor’ to appoint a female CEO – there is a wealth of quality in the current senior management team, he adds.
Secondly “to reverse the overzealous pivot to lower returning renewables back to its core skillset – the exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbons as a support to the energy transition.
Thirdly, “to put down the pastel colouring pen set in its corporate communications”.
