Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Nordea Bank AB FDR (HE:NDA1V), which rose 1.71% or 0.190 points to trade at 11.270 at the close. Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) added 1.58% or 0.095 points to end at 6.100 and Konecranes ABP (HE:KCRA) was up 1.31% or 0.50 points to 38.59 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kesko Oyj (HE:KESKOB), which lost 3.00% or 1.40 points to trade at 45.33 in late trade. Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB) declined 1.07% or 0.070 points to end at 6.465 and Fortum Oyj (HE:FORTUM) shed 1.05% or 0.15 points to 14.10.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 80 to 54 and 20 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 1.17% or 0.55 to $47.47 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.02% or 0.45 to hit $44.69 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.23% or 2.90 to trade at $1249.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.27% to 1.1371, while EUR/GBP fell 0.67% to 0.8790.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.40% at 95.80.
