Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Utilities and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 1.95%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (BR:ARGX), which rose 1.27% or 1.00 points to trade at 79.90 at the close. UCB (BR:UCB) unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to end at 76.52 and Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) was down 0.15% or 0.08 points to 51.72 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which lost 4.31% or 0.546 points to trade at 12.124 in late trade. KBC (BR:KBC) declined 2.96% or 1.940 points to end at 63.500 and Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) shed 2.77% or 0.70 points to 24.60.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 91 to 25 and 11 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.05% or 0.60 to $1219.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.21% or 0.81 to hit $67.62 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.12% or 0.81 to trade at $72.88 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 1.02% to 1.1410, while EUR/GBP fell 0.53% to 0.8938.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.73% at 96.16.
