Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Consumer Goods and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 1.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were UCB (BR:UCB), which rose 0.20% or 0.16 points to trade at 79.46 at the close. Argen-X (BR:ARGX) added 0.13% or 0.10 points to end at 79.50 and Umicore SA (BR:UMI) was down 0.02% or 0.01 points to 48.69 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Proximus NV (BR:PROX), which lost 2.51% or 0.51 points to trade at 19.83 in late trade. KBC (BR:KBC) declined 2.24% or 1.400 points to end at 61.160 and Telenet Group (BR:TNET) shed 2.18% or 1.04 points to 46.74.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 76 to 30 and 22 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.57% or 6.90 to $1204.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.62% or 0.43 to hit $69.94 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.43% or 0.33 to trade at $77.79 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.49% to 1.1650, while EUR/GBP fell 0.29% to 0.8962.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.34% at 94.78.
