Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Industrials and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.91%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Proximus NV (BR:PROX), which rose 1.21% or 0.25 points to trade at 20.85 at the close. bpost NV (BR:BPOST) added 0.56% or 0.08 points to end at 14.40 and Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) was up 0.47% or 0.55 points to 117.05 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which lost 4.92% or 0.98 points to trade at 18.95 in late trade. Argen-X (BR:ARGX) declined 1.94% or 1.30 points to end at 65.60 and Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) shed 1.27% or 0.16 points to 12.46.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 58 to 50 and 24 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.36% or 4.30 to $1205.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.23% or 1.58 to hit $72.36 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.77% or 2.17 to trade at $80.41 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.20% to 1.1772, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.8969.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 93.68.
