Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Utilities, Healthcare and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.90%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were D’Ieteren NV (EBR:IETB), which rose 1.24% or 2.60 points to trade at 212.60 at the close. Umicore SA (EBR:UMI) added 1.13% or 0.16 points to end at 14.28 and Aedifica (EBR:AOO) was up 0.84% or 0.50 points to 59.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS), which lost 3.09% or 2.58 points to trade at 80.82 in late trade. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 2.24% or 0.56 points to end at 24.46 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (EBR:ABI) shed 2.16% or 1.22 points to 55.34.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 60 to 28 and 18 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.75% or 18.05 to $2,438.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.20% or 0.16 to hit $80.86 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.13% or 0.11 to trade at $84.92 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 103.85.
