Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Healthcare and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.51%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB), which rose 1.63% or 0.60 points to trade at 37.30 at the close. Ageas (BR:AGES) added 0.44% or 0.180 points to end at 41.390 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) was up 0.11% or 0.09 points to 85.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Umicore SA (BR:UMI), which lost 2.12% or 1.00 points to trade at 46.08 in late trade. UCB (BR:UCB) declined 1.65% or 1.12 points to end at 66.58 and Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) shed 1.46% or 0.38 points to 25.58.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 61 to 51 and 19 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.48% or 6.50 to $1349.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.17% or 0.72 to hit $62.27 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.86% or 0.56 to trade at $65.40 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.2405, while EUR/GBP rose 0.33% to 0.8858.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 89.13.
