Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Utilities, Healthcare and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.39%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were UCB SA (EBR:UCB), which rose 1.04% or 1.60 points to trade at 155.90 at the close. Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) added 0.50% or 0.40 points to end at 80.00 and Proximus NV (EBR:PROX) was up 0.38% or 0.03 points to 6.66 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS), which lost 2.13% or 1.50 points to trade at 69.00 in late trade. Aperam SA (AS:APAM) declined 1.96% or 0.50 points to end at 25.04 and Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) shed 1.61% or 0.50 points to 30.53.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 66 to 32 and 15 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.09% or 2.20 to $2,543.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.37% or 0.27 to hit $73.39 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.41% or 0.32 to trade at $77.34 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.20% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.31% at 101.42.
