Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Utilities, Media and Industrial Engineering sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Telenet Group Holding NV (BR:TNET), which rose 2.29% or 0.98 points to trade at 43.72 at the close. Proximus NV (BR:PROX) added 2.08% or 0.48 points to end at 23.57 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) was up 1.45% or 0.95 points to 66.39 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ageas (BR:AGES), which lost 2.72% or 1.230 points to trade at 44.060 in late trade. bpost NV (BR:BPOST) declined 2.46% or 0.26 points to end at 10.30 and Argen-X (BR:ARGX) shed 1.78% or 1.50 points to 83.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 56 to 50 and 19 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.40% or 4.80 to $1204.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.94% or 1.08 to hit $56.77 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 1.99% or 1.30 to trade at $66.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.22% to 1.1315, while EUR/GBP fell 0.11% to 0.8690.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.33% at 96.82.
