Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Utilities, Technology and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (EBR:ARGX), which rose 3.71% or 14.90 points to trade at 416.00 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) added 3.16% or 0.74 points to end at 24.14 and UCB SA (EBR:UCB) was up 0.81% or 1.15 points to 143.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB), which lost 4.24% or 1.44 points to trade at 32.51 in late trade. Proximus NV (EBR:PROX) declined 1.82% or 0.14 points to end at 7.54 and Umicore SA (EBR:UMI) shed 1.81% or 0.25 points to 13.53.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 67 to 31 and 13 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.24% or 5.75 to $2,369.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.17% or 0.96 to hit $81.37 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.22% or 1.05 to trade at $84.70 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 104.83.
