Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Technology and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL), which rose 5.14% or 0.31 points to trade at 6.30 at the close. DIeteren SA (BR:IETB) added 3.73% or 1.365 points to end at 37.995 and Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BR:ABI) was up 2.78% or 2.90 points to 107.15 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Proximus NV (BR:PROX), which lost 1.71% or 0.53 points to trade at 30.16 in late trade. Delhaize Group (BR:DELB) declined 1.41% or 1.33 points to end at 93.14 and Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) shed 0.93% or 0.81 points to 86.59.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 84 to 61 and 8 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was down 1.08% or 13.60 to $1251.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $40.20 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.89% or 0.37 to trade at $41.17 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.39% to 1.1272, while EUR/GBP fell 0.49% to 0.7777.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.28% at 95.04.
