Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Healthcare, Telecoms and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 1.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 2.92% or 0.70 points to trade at 24.66 at the close. UCB SA (EBR:UCB) added 2.68% or 3.75 points to end at 143.90 and D’Ieteren NV (EBR:IETB) was up 2.14% or 4.40 points to 210.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Proximus NV (EBR:PROX), which lost 0.77% or 0.06 points to trade at 7.78 in late trade. Aperam SA (AS:APAM) declined 0.33% or 0.08 points to end at 24.20 and Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) shed 0.21% or 0.90 points to 427.90.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 67 to 31 and 7 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.37% or 8.80 to $2,390.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.57% or 0.45 to hit $78.19 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.52% or 0.43 to trade at $82.20 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.02% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.03% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 104.13.
