Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials, Financials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 1.20%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were KBC Groep NV (EBR:KBC), which rose 3.64% or 2.46 points to trade at 70.12 at the close. Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) added 2.81% or 2.20 points to end at 80.50 and Umicore SA (EBR:UMI) was up 2.72% or 0.30 points to 11.34 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Elia (EBR:ELI), which lost 1.34% or 1.30 points to trade at 95.75 in late trade. Proximus NV (EBR:PROX) declined 1.16% or 0.08 points to end at 6.39 and Warehouses de Pauw Comm VA (EBR:WDPP) shed 0.56% or 0.14 points to 24.72.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 68 to 25 and 16 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.70% or 17.40 to $2,497.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.82% or 1.40 to hit $78.38 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.87% or 1.49 to trade at $81.25 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.21% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.49% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.31% at 102.71.
