Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Healthcare, Utilities and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 1.20%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (EBR:ARGX), which rose 4.11% or 19.20 points to trade at 486.80 at the close. Cofinimmo SA (EBR:COFB) added 2.16% or 1.30 points to end at 61.40 and Warehouses de Pauw Comm VA (EBR:WDPP) was up 2.09% or 0.50 points to 24.48 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which lost 2.46% or 0.58 points to trade at 22.98 in late trade. Elia (EBR:ELI) declined 1.55% or 1.50 points to end at 95.20 and Umicore SA (EBR:UMI) shed 0.87% or 0.10 points to 11.40.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 66 to 24 and 14 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.33% or 8.20 to $2,471.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.62% or 0.47 to hit $76.66 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.47% or 0.37 to trade at $79.53 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.05% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 102.91.
