Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Utilities and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.78%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI), which rose 2.59% or 2.08 points to trade at 82.32 at the close. Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) added 1.14% or 0.15 points to end at 13.71 and KBC (BR:KBC) was up 0.86% or 0.580 points to 68.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which lost 2.17% or 0.50 points to trade at 22.56 in late trade. Aperam SA (AS:APAM) declined 1.08% or 0.44 points to end at 40.31 and UCB (BR:UCB) shed 0.44% or 0.30 points to 67.46.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 70 to 49 and 21 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.13% or 1.70 to $1297.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.14% or 0.75 to hit $65.06 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.24% or 0.95 to trade at $75.84 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.27% to 1.1691, while EUR/GBP rose 0.52% to 0.8782.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 94.02.
