Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Utilities, Industrials and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.67%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (EBR:ARGX), which rose 1.83% or 7.40 points to trade at 410.90 at the close. Sofina (EBR:SOF) added 1.68% or 3.60 points to end at 217.60 and Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) was up 1.52% or 0.51 points to 34.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Elia (EBR:ELI), which lost 1.37% or 1.20 points to trade at 86.45 in late trade. Proximus NV (EBR:PROX) declined 1.19% or 0.09 points to end at 7.47 and Ageas (EBR:AGES) shed 0.70% or 0.30 points to 42.80.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 49 to 38 and 18 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.27% or 6.40 to $2,332.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.31% or 0.26 to hit $83.12 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.06% or 0.05 to trade at $86.55 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.04% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.22% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 105.52.
