Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Telecoms and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.61%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore SA (EBR:UMI), which rose 3.86% or 0.52 points to trade at 13.99 at the close. Elia (EBR:ELI) added 2.92% or 2.60 points to end at 91.65 and D’Ieteren NV (EBR:IETB) was up 2.53% or 4.80 points to 194.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (EBR:ABI), which lost 0.58% or 0.32 points to trade at 55.30 in late trade. Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) declined 0.35% or 0.11 points to end at 31.23 and Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) gained 0.08% or 0.30 points to 355.90.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 62 to 32 and 16 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.62% or 14.40 to $2,343.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.80% or 0.64 to hit $80.36 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.83% or 0.70 to trade at $84.95 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.07% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 104.87.
