Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.57%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Elia (EBR:ELI), which rose 1.54% or 1.35 points to trade at 88.80 at the close. UCB SA (EBR:UCB) added 1.36% or 1.90 points to end at 141.65 and KBC Groep NV (EBR:KBC) was up 1.30% or 0.86 points to 67.14 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS), which lost 1.45% or 1.24 points to trade at 84.17 in late trade. Umicore SA (EBR:UMI) declined 1.39% or 0.20 points to end at 14.14 and Aperam SA (AS:APAM) shed 0.54% or 0.14 points to 25.76.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 48 to 45 and 13 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.16% or 3.75 to $2,365.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.06% or 0.05 to hit $83.93 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.18% or 0.16 to trade at $87.50 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.22% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 104.81.
