Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Healthcare and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.45%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Proximus NV (EBR:PROX), which rose 5.51% or 0.35 points to trade at 6.70 at the close. Umicore SA (EBR:UMI) added 2.11% or 0.23 points to end at 11.11 and Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) was up 1.44% or 7.40 points to 521.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (EBR:ABI), which lost 0.53% or 0.32 points to trade at 59.54 in late trade. Groep Brussel Lambert NV (EBR:GBLB) declined 0.51% or 0.35 points to end at 67.90 and Sofina (EBR:SOF) shed 0.43% or 1.00 points to 229.80.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 49 to 43 and 15 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.07% or 1.95 to $2,750.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.87% or 1.31 to hit $71.50 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.82% or 1.35 to trade at $75.73 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.16% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 104.07.
