Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Healthcare and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS), which rose 3.44% or 2.85 points to trade at 85.75 at the close. Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (EBR:ABI) added 1.78% or 1.02 points to end at 58.30 and Proximus NV (EBR:PROX) was up 0.80% or 0.06 points to 7.54 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Elia (EBR:ELI), which lost 1.90% or 1.85 points to trade at 95.45 in late trade. Sofina (EBR:SOF) declined 1.69% or 3.80 points to end at 221.00 and Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) shed 1.12% or 0.35 points to 30.92.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 49 to 43 and 12 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.74% or 17.55 to $2,393.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 2.04% or 1.51 to hit $75.58 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.86% or 1.46 to trade at $79.87 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.13% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 104.20.
