Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Technology and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB), which rose 4.59% or 1.49 points to trade at 33.94 at the close. Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS) added 2.96% or 2.43 points to end at 84.58 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (EBR:ABI) was up 2.44% or 1.34 points to 56.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Argen-X (EBR:ARGX), which lost 1.74% or 7.50 points to trade at 423.40 in late trade. D’Ieteren NV (EBR:IETB) declined 1.23% or 2.60 points to end at 208.40 and UCB SA (EBR:UCB) shed 0.81% or 1.15 points to 141.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 51 to 34 and 18 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.01% or 0.30 to $2,467.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.04% or 1.63 to hit $81.34 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.55% or 1.30 to trade at $85.03 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.31% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.42% at 103.53.
