Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials, Healthcare and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB gained 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MILAN:EMII), which rose 5.12% or 0.360 points to trade at 7.395 at the close. Luxottica Group (MILAN:LUX) added 2.97% or 1.70 points to end at 59.00 and Mediobanca (MILAN:MDBI) was up 2.53% or 0.215 points to 8.720 in late trade.
Biggest losers included STMicroelectronics (MILAN:STM), which lost 13.37% or 1.100 points to trade at 7.130 in late trade. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MILAN:FCHA) declined 5.65% or 0.800 points to end at 13.350 and Yoox (MILAN:YOOX) shed 3.66% or 1.07 points to 28.20.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 257 to 214 and 7 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 1.06% or 0.62 to $59.20 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 1.09% or 0.71 to hit $66.56 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 2.52% or 30.50 to trade at $1179.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.53% to 1.1187, while EUR/GBP rose 1.38% to 0.7308.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 95.19.
