Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Financials and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 1.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Generali (MI:GASI), which rose 3.74% or 0.42 points to trade at 11.65 at the close. UnipolSai Assicurazioni SpA (MI:US) added 3.34% or 0.058 points to end at 1.792 and Unipol (MI:UNPI) was up 3.30% or 0.092 points to 2.876 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Luxottica Group (MI:LUX), which lost 3.30% or 1.64 points to trade at 48.00 in late trade. Tenaris (MI:TENR) declined 2.85% or 0.42 points to end at 14.31 and Azimut Holding (MI:AZMT) shed 2.71% or 0.40 points to 14.35.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 259 to 144 and 22 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 1.60% or 0.77 to $47.47 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.86% or 0.42 to hit $48.48 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.20% or 2.45 to trade at $1212.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.06% to 1.0625, while EUR/GBP rose 0.60% to 0.8558.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.16% at 101.10.
