Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the S&P Lima Juniors, Food & Beverages and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM), which rose 2.78% or 0.005 points to trade at 0.185 at the close. Austral Group SAA (LM:AUG) added 1.94% or 0.020 points to end at 1.050 and Unacem (LM:CEL) was up 1.82% or 0.050 points to 2.800 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Trevali Mining (LM:TV), which lost 9.09% or 0.043 points to trade at 0.430 in late trade. Ferreyros (LM:FER) declined 8.33% or 0.150 points to end at 1.650 and Atacocha (LM:ATB) shed 4.87% or 0.015 points to 0.293.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 19 to 11 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 3.48% or 1.48 to $43.95 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 3.45% or 1.52 to hit $45.55 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.61% or 7.60 to trade at $1246.70 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2450, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.6941.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.50% at 94.54.
