Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Healthcare and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 1.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Heineken (AMS:HEIN), which rose 5.56% or 3.99 points to trade at 75.73 at the close. Unilever NV (AMS:UNc) added 2.02% or 0.82 points to end at 41.63 and Unibail Rodamco SE (AMS:UNBP) was up 1.63% or 3.95 points to 246.25 in late trade.
Biggest losers included OCI (AMS:OCI), which lost 2.11% or 0.645 points to trade at 29.920 in late trade. ArcelorMittal SA (AMS:ISPA) declined 1.45% or 0.12 points to end at 8.14 and ASML Holding (AMS:ASML) shed 0.77% or 0.70 points to 89.94.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 146 to 67 and 4 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 1.97% to 16.96.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 3.84% or 1.81 to $45.31 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 4.66% or 2.44 to hit $49.77 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.47% or 5.20 to trade at $1089.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.30% to 1.0951, while EUR/GBP fell 0.04% to 0.7027.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.28% at 97.59.
