Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB gained 2.50%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Yoox (MILAN:YOOX), which rose 5.79% or 1.66 points to trade at 30.32 at the close. UBI Banca (MILAN:UBI) added 4.28% or 0.305 points to end at 7.430 and Moncler SpA (MILAN:MONC) was up 4.17% or 0.68 points to 16.99 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MILAN:BMPS), which lost 0.71% or 0.0130 points to trade at 1.8070 in late trade. Buzzi Unicem (MILAN:BZU) declined 0.53% or 0.07 points to end at 13.14 and World Duty Free SpA (MILAN:WDF) shed 0.30% or 0.030 points to 10.070.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 361 to 111 and 2 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 1.43% or 0.86 to $61.00 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.10% or 0.71 to hit $65.59 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.75% or 8.80 to trade at $1186.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.14% to 1.1296, while EUR/GBP fell 0.55% to 0.7294.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.38% at 94.80.
