Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Mining, S&P Lima Juniors and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 0.68% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Austral Group SAA (LM:AUG), which rose 5.93% or 0.080 points to trade at 1.430 at the close. Corporacion Aceros Arequipa SA (LM:ARE) added 1.51% or 0.010 points to end at 0.670 and ENGIE Energia Peru SA (LM:ENGI) was up 0.63% or 0.050 points to 7.950 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Candente Copper (LM:DNT), which lost 10.00% or 0.0050 points to trade at 0.0450 in late trade. Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA) declined 5.66% or 0.120 points to end at 2.000 and Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC) shed 5.61% or 2.01 points to 33.79.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 21 to 8 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 2.45% or 1.09 to $43.34 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $45.81 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.16% or 1.98 to trade at $1244.72 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2725, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.6464.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 97.40.
