Investing.com – Israel equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Biomed, Technology and Communication sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 35 rose 0.42%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the TA 35 were Discount (TA:DSCT), which rose 2.94% or 23.5 points to trade at 823.5 at the close. Ormat Technologies (TA:ORA) added 1.88% or 380 points to end at 20580 and OPKO Health Inc (TA:OPK) was up 1.88% or 54 points to 2924 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ICL Israel Chemicals Ltd (TA:ICL), which lost 1.32% or 21 points to trade at 1565 in late trade. Poalim (TA:POLI) declined 1.24% or 28 points to end at 2238 and Nice Ltd (TA:NICE) shed 1.19% or 290 points to 24040.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 258 to 138 and 40 ended unchanged on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 1.89% or 0.90 to $48.63 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 1.96% or 1.00 to hit $51.90 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.08% or 1.05 to trade at $1256.75 a troy ounce.
USD/ILS was down 0.20% to 3.6074, while EUR/ILS fell 0.20% to 3.9189.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 98.97.
