Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Leasing & Factoring, Banking and Transport sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.00%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON), which rose 10.83% or 0.87 points to trade at 8.90 at the close. Petkim (IS:PETKM) added 3.23% or 0.120 points to end at 3.830 and Eregli Demir Celik (IS:EREGL) was up 3.11% or 0.150 points to 4.970 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gsd Holding (IS:GSDHO), which lost 3.39% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.570 in late trade. Do-Co (IS:DOCO) declined 3.29% or 8.00 points to end at 235.00 and Akbank (IS:AKBNK) shed 2.48% or 0.19 points to 7.47.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 187 to 154 and 67 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was up 0.24% or 2.85 to $1187.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 1.27% or 0.66 to hit $51.30 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 1.55% or 0.85 to trade at $54.09 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.44% to 3.7670, while EUR/TRY rose 1.57% to 3.9891.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.16% at 101.76.
