Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Telecoms and Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX rose 1.58% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were REC Silicon ASA (OL:REC), which rose 8.27% or 0.09 points to trade at 1.22 at the close. Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS) added 4.33% or 1.23 points to end at 29.65 and Norsk Hydro ASA (OL:NHY) was up 3.49% or 1.45 points to 43.04 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Schibsted ASA B (OL:SBSTB), which lost 1.47% or 2.50 points to trade at 168.10 in late trade. Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL) declined 1.00% or 0.3 points to end at 26.6 and Schibsted ASA A (OL:SBSTA) shed 0.96% or 1.7 points to 176.1.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 93 to 80 and 31 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.31% or 0.65 to $50.42 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 1.11% or 0.59 to hit $53.59 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.40% or 4.75 to trade at $1172.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.36% to 8.9599, while USD/NOK rose 0.87% to 8.4350.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.84% at 101.12.
