Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology, Telecoms and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 0.73%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MI:EMII), which rose 6.05% or 0.210 points to trade at 3.680 at the close. Salvatore Ferragamo (MI:SFER) added 2.12% or 0.47 points to end at 22.67 and Moncler SpA (MI:MONC) was up 1.05% or 0.16 points to 15.41 in late trade.
Biggest losers included FinecoBank Banca Fineco SpA (MI:FBK), which lost 3.99% or 0.20 points to trade at 4.81 in late trade. Tenaris (MI:TENR) declined 3.16% or 0.42 points to end at 12.88 and STMicroelectronics (MI:STM) shed 3.00% or 0.225 points to 7.285.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 233 to 163 and 28 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 1.13% or 0.58 to $50.77 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.30% or 0.69 to hit $52.45 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.15% or 1.95 to trade at $1258.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.68% to 1.1060, while EUR/GBP rose 0.58% to 0.9059.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.67% at 97.56.
