Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Media, Energy and Information Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which rose 11.91% or 6.65 points to trade at 62.50 at the close. Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP) added 4.13% or 2.50 points to end at 62.99 and Synthos SA (WA:SNS) was up 4.03% or 0.180 points to 4.650 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which lost 3.18% or 2.00 points to trade at 60.95 in late trade. Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) declined 2.68% or 1.43 points to end at 52.00 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) shed 2.68% or 1.99 points to 72.29.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 295 to 215 and 186 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 1.36% or 0.70 to $50.65 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.45% or 0.77 to hit $52.37 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.12% or 1.55 to trade at $1258.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.40% to 4.2818, while USD/PLN rose 1.08% to 3.8700.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.64% at 97.53.
