Investing.com - Global financial markets have been waiting all week for the start of the Federal Reserve's annual meeting of central bankers in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, where the focus lies squarely on a speech by Fed Chair Janet Yellen.
The U.S. central bank chief will deliver a speech titled “The Federal Reserve's Monetary Policy Toolkit” on Friday at 10:00AM ET (14:00GMT).
Investors are anxious to see whether Yellen will echo the hawkish views expressed in recent days by several Fed officials, including Vice Chair Stanley Fischer and New York Fed President William Dudley, or take a more dovish stance in line with the minutes from the central bank's July policy meeting, which suggested the Fed was not in a hurry to raise rates.
According to Investing.com's Fed Rate Monitor Tool, investors are pricing in an 21% chance of a rate hike by September. December odds were at around 49%.
