Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Food, Chemicals and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.34%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were mBank (WA:MBK), which rose 2.79% or 8.40 points to trade at 309.50 at the close. Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) added 2.64% or 0.42 points to end at 16.30 and CCC SA (WA:CCCP) was up 2.27% or 3.75 points to 168.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER), which lost 4.88% or 2.55 points to trade at 49.75 in late trade. Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) declined 3.75% or 2.75 points to end at 70.50 and Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU) shed 3.16% or 0.98 points to 30.02.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 356 to 144 and 179 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.63% or 0.31 to $48.76 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.59% or 0.30 to hit $50.24 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.84% or 10.75 to trade at $1286.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.87% to 4.4150, while USD/PLN rose 0.56% to 3.9121.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.22% at 94.42.
