Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials, Consumer Goods and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.65%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP), which rose 1.09% or 0.1300 points to trade at 12.0400 at the close. Semapa (LS:SEM) added 0.80% or 0.0850 points to end at 10.7500 and EDP (LS:EDP) was up 0.67% or 0.0200 points to 3.0150 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 8.24% or 0.0021 points to trade at 0.0234 in late trade. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) declined 2.94% or 0.0040 points to end at 0.1320 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) shed 1.00% or 0.0640 points to 6.3330.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 33 to 19 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was up 1.63% or 0.84 to $52.28 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.33% or 0.67 to hit $51.03 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 1.29% or 16.10 to trade at $1263.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.39% to 1.1402, while EUR/GBP rose 0.36% to 0.7838.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.36% at 93.50.
