Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Construction and Media sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 2.62% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Eurocash SA (WA:EUR), which rose 0.51% or 0.25 points to trade at 49.24 at the close. Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) added 0.09% or 0.06 points to end at 68.20 and Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) was down 0.46% or 0.25 points to 54.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Enea SA (WA:ENAE), which lost 7.19% or 0.72 points to trade at 9.30 in late trade. Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) declined 7.03% or 0.97 points to end at 12.83 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) shed 5.09% or 3.10 points to 57.80.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 387 to 136 and 150 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.22% or 0.11 to $48.99 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $49.87 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.74% or 8.95 to trade at $1208.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.10% to 4.3901, while USD/PLN fell 0.07% to 3.9362.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.20% at 95.64.
