Proactive Investors - Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL)'s upcoming AI features, branded as Apple Intelligence, will be delayed and won't be available with the initial launch of the new iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 in September, according to reports from the US.
Instead, these features are expected to roll out in updates by October. This delay allows Apple more time to resolve bugs and improve stability.
Developers will get early access to Apple Intelligence for testing through iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 betas, starting soon.
Apple typically doesn't release preview updates so early, but this change aims to ensure a smooth consumer launch.
The delay means the first iPhone 16 models will ship without the new AI features, which will require a later software update.
Key features include enhanced notifications, web page summaries, and a revamped Siri. Some features, like advanced Siri capabilities, will roll out gradually through updates into 2025.
