Proactive Investors - Aldi has expanded its new round of price reductions, with around 7% on average cut from 30 more household staples.
Apples, oranges and peaches are among the fruit prices being cut, while butter, personal hygiene ranges and pet food prices are also being reduced.
That makes 130 products that have seen reductions since Aldi started cutting prices two months ago.
Julie Ashfield, Aldi UK’s managing director of buying, said: “Our promise is that we will always offer the lowest grocery prices and we’re doing everything we can to pass savings on to our customers.
“As Britain’s cheapest supermarket, shoppers are switching to Aldi from every other supermarket,” she added.
Aldi was named in July as the UK’s cheapest supermarket for the 14th month running by Which?
On a selected basket of goods, Aldi charged £71.22, which is £8.37 cheaper than Tesco (LON:TSCO) and £16.02 less than Waitrose.
