Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Media and Energy sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.73%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were CD Projekt SA (WA:CDR), which rose 1.54% or 0.79 points to trade at 52.00 at the close. Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP) added 1.45% or 1.00 points to end at 70.00 and Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) was up 1.31% or 0.67 points to 52.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP), which lost 3.02% or 1.20 points to trade at 38.50 in late trade. Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) declined 2.32% or 1.69 points to end at 71.31 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) shed 1.92% or 0.46 points to 23.54.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 287 to 240 and 197 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.41% or 0.22 to $53.08 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.56% or 0.31 to hit $55.04 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.00% or 0.05 to trade at $1133.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.10% to 4.4097, while USD/PLN fell 0.45% to 4.2260.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.28% at 102.97.
