Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Energy, Oil & Gas and Media sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP), which rose 5.08% or 2.53 points to trade at 52.33 at the close. PKO Bank Polski SA (WA:PKO) added 2.98% or 0.87 points to end at 30.08 and Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) was up 2.00% or 0.86 points to 43.85 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN), which lost 2.84% or 0.19 points to trade at 6.51 in late trade. Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) declined 2.72% or 0.10 points to end at 3.57 and Enea SA (WA:ENAE) shed 2.63% or 0.38 points to 14.09.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 279 to 264 and 114 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 2.11% or 0.97 to $44.95 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 1.44% or 0.70 to hit $48.19 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.49% or 5.40 to trade at $1103.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.07% to 4.2082, while USD/PLN fell 0.62% to 3.7111.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.36% at 95.20.
