On the New York Mercantile Exchange, Crude oil futures for May delivery traded at USD46.98 a barrel at time of writing falling 1.00%.
Earlier, it traded at a session low USD46.94 a barrel. Crude oil was likely to find support at USD44.77 and resistance at USD47.61.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, rose 0.32% to trade at USD97.52.
Elsewhere on the ICE, Brent oil for May delivery fell 0.42% to trade at USD55.56 a barrel, with the spread between the Brent oil and Crude oil contracts stood at USD8.58 a barrel.
