Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were J. Martins SGPS (LISBON:JMT), which rose 1.38% or 0.1775 points to trade at 13.0425 at the close. REN (LISBON:RENE) added 1.17% or 0.0310 points to end at 2.6910 and Banco BPI (LISBON:BBPI) was up 0.97% or 0.0145 points to 1.5045 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF), which lost 2.47% or 0.0002 points to trade at 0.0079 in late trade. Galp Energia Nom (LISBON:GALP) declined 1.57% or 0.1900 points to end at 11.9000 and Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA) shed 1.16% or 0.01 points to 0.85.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 47 to 22 and 2 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was down 1.14% or 0.77 to $66.50 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.60% or 0.97 to hit $59.53 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.45% or 5.50 to trade at $1223.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.21% to 1.1378, while EUR/GBP rose 0.15% to 0.7221.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.15% at 93.60.
