Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Real Estate, Technology Hardware & Equipment and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 1.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were NN Group (AMS:NN), which rose 0.73% or 0.19 points to trade at 26.09 at the close. Royal Dutch Shell A (AMS:RDSa) added 0.67% or 0.17 points to end at 25.70 and TNT Express (AMS:TNTE) was up 0.35% or 0.027 points to 7.649 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ASML Holding (AMS:ASML), which lost 2.57% or 2.48 points to trade at 94.10 in late trade. Gemalto (AMS:GTO) declined 2.40% or 1.97 points to end at 80.09 and ING Groep (AMS:ING) shed 1.97% or 0.300 points to 14.930.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 162 to 48 and 4 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 5.08% to 26.68.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.86% or 0.49 to $57.45 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.75% or 0.47 to hit $62.48 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.46% or 5.40 to trade at $1163.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.34% to 1.1091, while EUR/GBP rose 0.37% to 0.7104.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.25% at 96.24.
